Hedge End is officially twinned with Comines-Warneton in Belgium, although we also have links with Comines, France. You see the coat of arms of the Belgian town above.
The Hedge End Twinning Association was a non-political organisation which existed purely to assist the local community to make the most of the opportunities that can arise through twinning on a personal level. Their goal was to encourage youth and adult organisations, clubs, companies, groups and all townspeople to communicate and exchange visits with each other.
However, due to lack of interest on the part of Hedge Enders, the Hedge End Twinning Association was dissolved on the 19th of January 2010. Responsibility for twinning activities has now reverted to the Hedge End Town Council.
